| Make Your
Display Pay-off... |
|
|
Aerial displays continue to grow in popularity for
entertainment and celebration venues. A display can
pay-off for you by:
|
|
• Attracting a broad demographic profile
audience
|
|
• Maximizing attendance resulting in increased
revenue
|
|
• Providing a sponsor with promotional
opportunities and public relations features
|
|
• Providing media sources with opportunities for
tie-ins with live broadcasts of the actual display
or by providing story lines for pre-display feature

Planning... |
|
Whatever the size of your display, good planning is the
key to a successful display program and ultimately the
best reception for your audience.
The following is a checklist to serve as a beginning for
your evaluation process for a fireworks company.
How many years has the company been in business?
What is the company's safety record?
Will the company provide you with references?
What experience does the crew have that will be
shooting your display?
Does the fireworks company provide a certificate
of insurance?
What is the rating of the company providing the
insurance?
Does the fireworks company carry products
liability insurance and worker's compensation?
Does the fireworks company communicate with you
and assist in confirming the display and display
site?
Does the company provide all equipment and
materials required for the set up and shooting
of your display?
Does the proposal for the display list all
shells and designate the diameter of all shells?
Be aware that shell numbers should represent actual aerial shells and not individual shots
from candles or cake items. An example, don't confuse a 100-Shot Opening Finale (Cake item)
with a 100 - Shot 3" (designated diameter) Finale. The old saying, "If it looks too good to
be true, it probably is," would be a good thing to keep in mind when comparing proposals.
Remember that lower quality shells will add numbers
to your count, but will not deliver the quality of
material to make your show truly unique and
exciting! |

On Site-with All American Display
Fireworks... Selecting the site for your display is an important consideration. The following is a listing of features to be
reviewed for the display launch site where the fireworks are to be discharged: |
1) What is the distance between the display launch
site and the area where spectators will be? |
2) What are the distances between the display launch
site and features such as roads, inhabited
buildings, overhead lines, occupied parking lots or water areas? |
| 3) Are there any obstructions between spectators and display launch site? This will assist us in the design of your program. For an example, if there is a line of trees obstructing the view line,
larger size shells will be utilized to break above the tree line. |
|
|
All American Display Fireworks operates under NFPA 1123. A minimum safety distance of 70 feet per inch of
shell size is mandatory at the display site. This allows for what is called the "Safety Zone." The
larger the shell, the larger the distance for this zone. For a 3" shell, there is a safety radius of 210 feet. For an 8" shell, the safety
radius increase to 560 feet.
When evaluating a display site, these safety distances will assist in determining the size of shells to be used in your
program. Safety is the top priority with our company and your program will comply with all federal, state or local
regulatory agencies' laws.
As a sponsor of an aerial display, you will be responsible for on-site security and fire department protection of the
display site from setup to tear-down. This will be coordinated with you by our office once the site has been
evaluated. You will also be responsible for providing security for the display site if overnight storage is required.
These issues will be decided upon in advance of your display to allow you enough time to coordinate with
appropriate parties. |
